Strong Correlation between Fe ii/Mg ii Ratio and Eddington Ratio of Type 1 Active Galactic Nuclei

چکیده

The FeII/MgII line flux ratio has been used as an indicator of the Fe/Mg abundance in broad region (BLR) active galactic nuclei (AGNs). On basis archival rest-frame UV spectra obtained via Hubble Space Telescope and Sloan Digital Sky Survey, we investigate ratios type 1 AGNs at z < 2. Over wide dynamic ranges AGN properties (i.e., black hole mass, luminosity, Eddington ratio), confirm that strongly correlates with but not or redshift. Our results suggest metallicity BLR are physically related to accretion activity AGNs, global galaxies galaxy mass luminosity). With regard relation between rate discuss metal cooling may play important role enhancing gas inflow into central host galaxies, resulting high AGNs.

Active Galactic Nuclei Emission-line Properties versus Eddington Ratio

We analyze UV spectra for a large sample of 578 Type 1 Active Galactic Nuclei and derive Eddington ratios, L/Ledd, from the bolometric luminosities and emission line widths for each object in the sample. The sample spans five orders of magnitude in supermassive black hole (SMBH) mass, seven orders of magnitude in luminosity, and a redshift range from 0 ≤ z ≤ 5. We include a sample of 26 lowreds...

Constraints on radiatively inefficient accretion flow models from Eddington ratio distribution of active galactic nuclei

The radiative efficiencies of accretion flows become significantly lower than that of standard thin disks, if they are accreting at rates lower than a critical accretion rate ṁcrit. The transition of a standard thin disk to a radiatively inefficient accretion flow (RIAF) is expected to occur, while ṁ ∼ ṁcrit (ṁ = Ṁ/ṀEdd). We simulate the distributions of Eddington ratio λL B λ/LEdd for active g...

Constraints on radiatively inefficient accretion history from Eddington ratio distribution of active galactic nuclei

The transition of a standard thin disk to a radiatively inefficient accretion flow (RIAF) is expected to occur, when ṁ ∼ ṁcrit (ṁ = Ṁ/ṀEdd). The radiative efficiencies of accretion flows accreting at rates lower than the critical accretion rate ṁcrit become significantly lower than that of standard thin disks. It is believed that the initial transition radius is small just after the accretion m...

Active Galactic Nucleus Emission-line Properties versus the Eddington Ratio

We analyze UV spectra for a large sample of 578 type 1 active galactic nuclei and derive Eddington ratios, L=LEdd, from the bolometric luminosities and emission-line widths for each object in the sample. The sample spans 5 orders of magnitude in supermassive black hole (SMBH) mass, 7 orders of magnitude in luminosity, and a redshift range 0 z 5. We include a sample of 26 low-redshift narrow-lin...

Eigenvector 1: An Optimal Correlation Space for Active Galactic Nuclei.

We identify a correlation space involving optical and UV emission-line parameters as well as the soft X-ray spectral index that provides optimal discrimination between all principal classes of active galactic nuclei (AGNs). Most of the sources in our three high-quality data samples show a strong intercorrelation with narrow-line Seyfert 1 (NLSy1) galaxies and steep-spectrum radio galaxies occup...
